United Nations Universal Childrens Day was established in 1954 and is celebrated on 20th November each year to promote international togetherness and awareness among the children worldwide with an aim to improve the life of every child . West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) celebrated the event at the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center (EZCC) Kolkata . The Celebration was uncommonly decorated with plenty of eye catching events . The most notable event was the Birangana – Birpurush awards , where our very own brave and courageous girl named Pritha Nag (Named Changed ) from our intervention area( Canning I) of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Center – Loreto has been nominated for the said award . Pritha is a shining example of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Center . She has saved her friend life Misha (name changed) from being trafficked by a local boy . Through her excellent bravery she made plan collected the traffickers phone number and through further communication asked the man for a job in exchange for her friend Misha . Simultaneously she informed the community members and her parents about this and took the further step . Somehow she met the Trifficker for an exchange with her friend and rescued her from a major train station in Kolkata . Misha was saved by her friend Pritha who took this brave step in rescuing her friend . The family was felicitated with honour at the Birangana – Birpurush Awards Ceremony . We salute Pritha for her courageous act .
