Child Rights team conducted District Level Consultation meet and orientation for Civic Volunteers in collaboration with Basirhat P.S. on 23rd May 2023. The programme was held at Basirhat Town Hall. This platform leveraged the visibility of our work at the district level and paved the way for better collaboration with all district level stakeholders.
In the first half, 80 civic police volunteers and 30 police officers were provided orientation on J. J. Act and child rights. The Child protection issues were discussed along with the issues revolving child marriage and cybercrimes. The Cyber Crime Branch of Basirhat Police discussed the topic of cyber safety. Among the dignitaries present at the programme were the MLA of Basirhat, Deputy Superintendent of Police, The Block Development Officer of Basirhat-I Block, Child Development Programme Officer, Panchayat Pradhans and representatives, Officers of Basirhat Cyber police cell, Sub Division Officer of Basirhat, Child Club members and CBO members. The meeting focused on various aspects of Child Protection issues and ended with some strategies to fight against Child Rights violation in collaboration with all the stakeholders especially from the Government departments.
