At Dhapa and Hastings in Kolkata, a team of dedicated social workers from KMWSC, confronted an education challenge. Through surveys and home visits, they identified children who were not enrolled in school due to economic pressure. Parents believed early earnings trumped education. The team engaged in patient counselling, dispelling misconceptions and nurturing hope.
Gradually, after prolonged counselling sessions, parents understood education’s worth. Challenges emerged – bureaucracy, finance – yet the team persisted. K.M.C. Munshi Premchand School, Balika Vidyaniketan, Amar Shahid Vidaymandir, and Buniyadi Vidyapith Girls School opened doors. Faces lit up as kids entered Pre-Primary, Standard I, II, III, and V.
Transformation spread beyond classes. Parents gained dignity, realizing their kids’ potential. The community shifted, intertwining education’s importance. The KMWSC team continues their support, nurturing motivation and celebrating milestones.
