Since 2018, the KMWSC team is working in Diamond Harbour to combat Human Trafficking and Child Abuse through Sensitization of Communities and Adolescents at Risk. Over the years, with our experience, the project design has been modified from December 2022. At present, the Human Trafficking Project has been modified to include the aspects of Human Rights and rights of the differently abled in the vulnerable communities at Diamond Harbour due to the changes of needs at the field level. Thus with the change in the design, KMWSC propose to extend the project area at in Diamond Harbour. The project focuses on areas such as:
Safeguarding of children, addressing gender-based discrimination and violence, addressing the rights of people with disabilities who face enormous challenges, stigma and discrimination, human rights. The project will work to create awareness of their rights and guide them through the process of applying for government schemes. Awareness will also be created in the local community on the myths and stereotypes related to disability.
Sensitization of the community to make people aware on issues related to violation of rights and thus, in turn, form a safety net in the community and act as a protective shield.
KMWSC is presently running 17 projects in various thematic areas of Education, Women and Child Protection, Community Development, Skill Development & Capacity Building and Pandemic & Disaster Management.
