Opening Doors to Learning, Confidence and Opportunity
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and dream of a better future. Yet, for children growing up in vulnerable communities, gaps in education can become barriers that affect not only their academic progress but also their confidence, well-being and future opportunities.
Pathways to Progress is an initiative dedicated to supporting underprivileged children aged 6 to 16 years in Dhaltita village, Basirhat-I Block, North 24 Parganas, by creating pathways towards quality education and holistic development.
The project provides remedial educational support to help children strengthen their foundational learning, overcome educational gaps and remain connected with their studies. Beyond academics, the initiative recognises that true development also involves emotional well-being, life skills, health awareness and an understanding of equality and rights.
Through age-appropriate activities and community-based engagement, children are encouraged to develop confidence, express themselves, make informed decisions and recognise the importance of education in shaping their future. The project also engages parents and guardians, helping families understand their vital role in supporting children’s education, well-being and continued learning.
Pathways to Progress also seeks to strengthen collaboration with local schools and community stakeholders, creating a supportive environment where children can learn and thrive.
By bringing together children, families, schools and the wider community, the project strives to ensure that vulnerability does not determine a child’s future. Each lesson learned, each new skill developed and each child who continues their educational journey represents another step towards a more hopeful and dignified tomorrow.
Pathways to Progress is not simply about helping children catch up. It is about helping them move forward.
