Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre has been implementing a project at Sonagachi since 2016 catering to the changing needs of the sex workers and their children. From 2023, the project has been developed to cater to the specific need of the sex workers at Sonagachi. The project focuses on reducing the vulnerability of the sex workers through awareness, advocacy, capacity building rehabilitation and adult education. The project also addresses sound mental health, and wellbeing, prevention and precaution.
