Lotus Child Project – Dulki village in Sundarban

Welcome to the Lotus Child Project in Dukli village, situated in the heart of Sundarbans. Our keen observation and surveys revealed a concerning pattern – though enrolled in local government schools, children were irregular attendees, with parents showing limited interest in their education. In a situation like this, KMWSC stepped in with a mission to enhance the education and cognitive development of these youngsters.

Our project is dedicated to inspiring both dropout children and those enrolled but not attending regularly to embrace consistent school attendance. Through targeted remedial classes, we aim to bridge educational gaps and empower these children for a brighter future. In tandem, we recognise the importance of menstrual health and hygiene, launching mass awareness programs to empower women in the community. Our initiatives extend to sensitizing the community on child rights through diverse training sessions, auto awareness campaigns, and more.

Additionally, we believe in fostering alternative livelihoods for women of the village. Our handicraft training programs are designed not only to impart valuable skills but also to empower women economically. At the Lotus Child Project, we are committed to holistic community development, ensuring education, health, and livelihood opportunities reach every corner of Dukli village.

Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of these resilient communities.
