Three days peer group training on child tracking system and child protection issues

3 days peer group training on child tracking system and child protection issues have been conducted by Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre under the project “Sensitization on Anti-human Trafficking” in Canning 1 Bock. 20 Adolescent Girls participated in the training programme and they have been oriented on child rights and protection issues. These girls have represented their respective Adolescent Girls Group from 10 Gram Panchayats of Canning 1 Block. The focus of the training was to frame a child tracking system within the community where these girls will track their peer mates from neighbourhood and schools. The following points have been explained on tracking system:

1. The members of each group will track 7 neighboring girls /friends of their community who are under 18 years.
2. Number of active members of 10 girls groups of 10 GPs will spread awareness on child marriage, child labour and child trafficking issues. They will track other community girls to stop child marriage, school drop-out, unsafe migration, elopement and trafficking issues.
3. Each member will track others and if any case will be identified, the CHILD LINE will be informed.
4. Thus 1600 girls under 18 years will be tracked everyday by the tracking system.
5. A tracking tool (Note book) will be followed where all the track records will be preserved. Once in two months the members of the girls group will meet and will conduct meeting about the situation. All the members will report about the girls who have been tracked by them and they will track the record in the note book
