On 28th May 2025, a strategic networking meeting was successfully conducted under the banner of “Nari Shakti” project of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC), bringing together 23 stakeholders and community members (12 male and 11 female participants) at Shambhunagar Gram Panchayat. The meeting served as a critical platform for dialogue, cooperation, and action planning on issues that deeply affect the local community.

The gathering witnessed the active presence of key grassroots leaders, including the Panchayat Samiti Member and Sangsad Members from Ward Nos. 31, 33, and 35. Their participation reflected a strong commitment to inclusive governance and community-driven development.

During the session, the KMWSC team presented ongoing initiatives and highlighted the pressing challenges identified in the area — particularly those related to child protection, access to education, health care gaps, and livelihood vulnerabilities. The exchange allowed for stakeholders to share insights from the ground, voice their concerns, and collaborate on sustainable, locally-relevant solutions.

The meeting emphasised the importance of multi-sectorial coordination, with discussions focusing on enhancing the role of the Panchayat, health workers, educators, and local leaders in building a safer and more empowered community — especially for vulnerable children and women.

This networking event was not just about sharing information — it was about building bridges between institutions and people, nurturing mutual accountability, and paving the way for stronger partnerships at the grassroots level.
