On 20th April 2026, the Brickfield School Project team conducted a field-level capacity building training for teachers at Pujali, bringing together 27 educators – 20 from Pujali centres and 7 from Akra. The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ competencies in both academic facilitation and child protection practices at the grassroots level.
The sessions covered a range of critical topics, beginning with demonstrations on teaching language, numeracy, and effective communication during parents’ meetings. Emphasis was also placed on child protection and safeguarding, including the roles and responsibilities of Child Protection & Safeguarding Officers and teachers in ensuring the implementation of Child Protection Policies (CPP).
Participants were further guided on practical aspects such as mapping danger and safe zones, maintaining a risk register, and understanding the process of lodging complaints in case of any incidents in the field. The training created a space for active participation, enabling teachers to share field experiences and strengthen their understanding through discussion and reflection.
In addition, a meeting was held with the sack farming staff to review field updates and plan for the upcoming second phase training at the field level, ensuring better coordination across programme components.
The training reflected the commitment of the project team to continuously build the capacity of educators, ensuring safer learning environments and improved quality of education for children in brickfield communities.
“Empowered teachers, better classrooms – building stronger foundations for every child.”
