On 17th July 2025, an innovative awareness programme was organised at Gachha under the Surokhit Shaishav Project, in collaboration with the local Health Centre and supported by the Health Department. What made this awareness session unique was its medium — a magic show that creatively blended entertainment with education.

The programme drew the attention of children and community members alike, using the engaging format of magic to communicate important health and child protection messages in a fun and memorable way. While the magician captivated the audience with his tricks and illusions, he seamlessly wove in themes such as hand hygiene, nutrition, safe touch and unsafe touch, and the importance of education and protection from child labour and early marriage.

By using storytelling, visual props, and audience interaction, the magic show succeeded in conveying complex messages in a way that was both accessible and enjoyable. This creative approach not only entertained the participants but also left a lasting impression on children and adults alike, reinforcing key lessons through laughter and surprise.

Health workers and project team members were present to facilitate discussions after the show, ensuring that the messages were clearly understood and questions from the audience were addressed. Informational materials were also distributed to reinforce the key takeaways.

The programme demonstrated the power of creative communication in reaching underserved communities with essential knowledge — especially when conventional methods may not be as effective.
