On World Day Against Trafficking in Person, the KMWSC team of Child Rights and Anti Human Trafficking Projects, in collaboration with the Institute of Psychiatry-CoE, IPGME & R, Kolkata, organized a significant event at Basirhat Townhall, North 24 Parganas. The event saw participation from dignitaries across four blocks under the Basirhat subdivision (Basirhat Block-1, Basirhat Block-2, Baduria Block, and Swarupnagar). Key attendees included the DSP of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), LSI of Police District, Police officials, members of the 102 BN Border Security Force-Anti Human Trafficking Unit, representatives from the Sub-District Legal Service Authority, Panchayat Pradhan, and representatives from various colleges and schools. The entire program was centered around the theme "Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking." A highlight of the event was the powerful testimonies given by child leaders who shared their journeys and experiences with the projects over the years. These testimonies underscored the importance of continued efforts and collaboration in combating human trafficking and ensuring the protection of children's rights. This observance reinforced the collective commitment to fighting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable children. The KMWSC team, alongside their partners, remains dedicated to making a significant impact in this critical area.
