On 5th and 6th November 2024, meetings with the Mothers’ Collectives were held at Benebow and Paikardanga villages in Basirhat -1 block of North 24 Parganas as part of the Surakshit Shaishav Project. Similar meetings were held on the 6th with the Mothers’ Collectives at Panitor and Kamardanga villages, also in Basirhat-I block. The discussions at these meetings focused on vital topics such as child protection, recognising different forms of abuse, and the essential roles parents play in safeguarding their children. Through these interactive sessions, mothers were empowered with knowledge to identify risks and take proactive steps to create a safer environment for their children. This gathering underscores KMWSC’s commitment to strengthening community awareness and fostering parental involvement in child protection.
