Human Rights Day was observed on 10th December 2025 at Khola Ghata village in Baruipur under the Silver Lining Project, bringing together 67 community members, including adolescents, youth, mothers’ groups, and local stakeholders.
The programme focused on deepening awareness of fundamental human rights, especially the right to education, safety, equality, and protection from exploitation. Through meaningful discussions and interactive activities, participants explored the significance of recognising their rights and the power of speaking up against violations.
Special emphasis was placed on this year’s global theme, “Human Rights: Our Everyday Essentials,” reminding everyone that human rights are not abstract ideals but daily necessities that shape dignity, justice, and wellbeing.
The community engaged actively in dialogues on responsibilities, mutual respect, and building a safe environment for children and vulnerable individuals. Local stakeholders appreciated the initiative and encouraged the community to remain vigilant and supportive of one another.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to uphold human rights in everyday actions and to work together toward a just, informed, and empowered community.
