On 20th August 2025, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) organised a health camp at Dulki village in the Sundarbans under the Lotus Child Project. The initiative aimed at addressing the pressing healthcare needs of this remote community, where access to medical services is often limited due to geographical and economic challenges.
The camp witnessed a strong turnout, with 100 villagers benefitting from the services provided. Professional medical practitioners examined the participants and prescribed necessary treatments. Medicines were distributed free of cost, ensuring that beneficiaries could begin immediate care without financial strain.
For many villagers, the camp provided much-needed relief from untreated illnesses and preventive health awareness. The session also emphasised the importance of timely check-ups, healthy practices, and seeking medical help at the earliest signs of discomfort. By focusing on both treatment and awareness, the camp strengthened community health while reducing barriers to accessing medical care.
The health camp was not only about addressing immediate health concerns but also about reinforcing KMWSC’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of vulnerable communities in the Sundarbans. The smiles and gratitude of the participants stood as a testament to the positive impact of such outreach initiatives.
“Caring for communities, healing with hope.”
