On 11th May 2025, the third phase of the Health Programme under the Brickfield School Project commenced in Kalyani, marking another important step in providing preventive healthcare and health education to migrant brickfield communities.

Health check-up camps were conducted in five brickfields — MSW, Shanti, Nadia, India, and RBF — offering basic health screenings to workers and their families. In tandem, awareness sessions were held focusing on critical health and hygiene topics to promote informed and healthy living practices among the migrant population.

Turnout Summary:

• MSW: 34 patients screened | 62 attended awareness
• Shanti: 19 patients | 40 attended awareness
• Nadia: 12 patients | 32 attended awareness
• India: 26 patients | 40 attended awareness
• RBF: 19 patients | 40 attended awareness

While the number of patients seeking clinical consultation during this phase was relatively lower — largely due to the brief interval since the previous health camps held just a month earlier — the enthusiastic participation in the awareness sessions highlighted the community’s growing understanding and prioritisation of healthcare.

These camps continue to serve as a vital lifeline for families with limited access to regular medical facilities, offering preventive care, early detection, and practical health education.

The KMWSC team remains committed to reaching more families in upcoming weeks with continued health outreach in other brickfields across Nadia, North 24 Parganas, and South 24 Parganas districts.
