Healing Through Play: Game Therapy Session – Phase 2
Healing Through Play: Game Therapy Session – Phase 2
15 Oct 2025
10.30am
KMWSC office in Kolkata
On 15th October 2025, the second phase of Game Therapy was conducted at Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) under the IDENTITY Project for 20 identified children in need of emotional and behavioural support.
The session, facilitated by a professional, continued the therapeutic journey initiated in the first phase, using structured play as a medium to help children express emotions, build confidence, and strengthen coping mechanisms. Through guided games, storytelling, and interactive group activities, the children learned to communicate better, manage stress, and develop trust in a safe and supportive environment.
Game therapy, as an integral part of psychosocial intervention under the IDENTITY project, focuses on holistic child development — bridging emotional well-being with behavioural growth. The session also aimed to identify positive progress among the participants and tailor follow-up strategies for individual needs.
Smiles, laughter, and a renewed sense of connection filled the room as each child rediscovered joy through play. The success of such therapeutic interventions reaffirms KMWSC’s commitment to ensuring that every child grows not only in knowledge but also in emotional strength and resilience.
“Where words fall short, play becomes the language of healing.”
