From Training to Trade Floor: A First Exposure Visit to the Beautech Cosmetic & Salon Expo

Learning reaches its fullest potential when it steps beyond the training space and into the real world. With this belief, the Skill Development (SKD) Project organised an exposure visit for 8 underprivileged trainees from its beauty and wellness training programmes to the Beautech Cosmetic & Salon Expo, held at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre on 4th August 2026.

For the students, this marked the first time they had the opportunity to participate in an industry exposure visit of this scale, offering them a rare and valuable window into the professional world they are training to enter. Walking through the expo, trainees encountered a wide range of beauty and cosmetic products, tools, and techniques from across the industry, gaining first-hand exposure to trends, brands, and innovations that go far beyond what regular training sessions alone can offer.

The visit also opened trainees' eyes to the sheer breadth of career opportunities available within the beauty industry – from salon work and freelance styling to product demonstration, brand representation, and entrepreneurship. Seeing established professionals and businesses at work helped students better envision their own potential career paths, reinforcing the practical relevance of the skills they are currently developing through the SKD Project.

Beyond the products and displays, the exposure visit served as a source of motivation and inspiration, allowing trainees to see the tangible outcomes of dedication and skill within the beauty and wellness sector. For many, it was an eye-opening reminder that their training today can lead to real, thriving careers tomorrow.

Through initiatives such as this, the Skill Development Project continues to bridge the gap between hands-on training and industry reality, ensuring that trainees are not only skilled but also inspired and informed about the opportunities that await them.
