The Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme (AGEP) celebrated a significant milestone on 21st June 2026, bringing together adolescent girls from Gosaba in the Sundarbans and Boinchtala, Dhapa, for a day filled with joy, reflection, and preparation for the future.
Graduation Day was observed with 50 adolescent girls in Gosaba and 40 girls in Boinchtala, marking the successful completion of an important phase of learning and personal growth under the programme. The celebrations provided an opportunity for the participants to look back on their journey, acknowledge their achievements, and share their hopes and aspirations for the future.
The programme was enlivened by vibrant cultural performances and heartfelt speeches delivered by the girls themselves. Through dance and inspiring reflections, they expressed how AGEP had helped them build confidence, develop life skills, and gain a greater understanding of their potential. Their words and performances reflected not only their talents but also the transformation they had experienced through the programme.
Alongside the celebrations, a career readiness session was conducted with adolescent girls at Boinchtala to equip them with the knowledge and confidence required to navigate future educational and vocational opportunities. Discussions focused on goal setting, planning for careers, and preparing for life beyond the programme. A post-assessment test was also administered to evaluate the learning outcomes and growth achieved by the participants.
The day stood as a testament to the power of investing in adolescent girls and creating opportunities that enable them to dream bigger and pursue their aspirations with confidence. As the graduates step into new phases of their lives, AGEP continues to walk alongside them, fostering leadership, resilience, and the belief that every girl has the potential to become an agent of positive change in her family and community.
“Nurturing aspirations, celebrating achievements, and shaping tomorrow’s leaders.”
