Empowering Educators: Three-Day Capacity Building Training for Brickfield School Teachers

Great teaching begins with well-equipped teachers. With this belief, KMWSC organised a three-day Capacity Building Training for teachers and staff of the Brickfield Schools (BFS) from Haroa and Pujali, held at KMWSC from 4^th to 6^th August 2026, bringing together 31 participants for an intensive, skill-focused learning experience.

The first day began with icebreaking activities to build comfort and rapport among participants, followed by a discussion on teachers' expectations from the training. Sessions then moved into practical skill-building, including the preparation of "look and see" cards for language development, along with discussions on the character and needs of a child, the evolving role of a teacher, and activity-based learning through rhymes.

Day two opened with a recap of the previous day's learning before moving into storytelling techniques and live demonstrations. Participants prepared number cards and explored their use in early numeracy, complemented by number-based rhymes and hands-on origami activities to strengthen fine motor and cognitive skills among young learners.

The final day began with a recap and open conversation on training topics covered so far, followed by micro-teaching sessions where participants practised and refined their own teaching techniques. The day also featured interactive games, a feedback session for participants to reflect on their learning, and a presentation on Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) to equip teachers with practical resources for their classrooms.

Through this training, KMWSC continues to invest in strengthening the capacity of BFS educators, ensuring that children in Haroa and Pujali receive quality, engaging, and developmentally appropriate teaching.

"Empowered teachers, brighter classrooms."
