On 30th July 2025, the Naya Disha Project team organised a comprehensive awareness programme at the Uttar Boltola ICDS Centre, bringing together an impressive gathering of 502 women from the community, along with the Anganwadi Worker (AWW).

The session addressed a range of pressing issues that affect the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of individuals, particularly women and children. Discussions covered basic human rights, the dangers and consequences of child marriage, the misuse of social media and its potential risks, human trafficking, and health and hygiene practices essential for maintaining community wellbeing.

The programme encouraged participants to understand their rights and recognise violations, while also highlighting the importance of prevention through community-based solutions. Interactive exchanges enabled women to share their own observations and concerns, creating a collaborative atmosphere for identifying practical ways to safeguard their families and neighbourhoods.

Special emphasis was placed on the role of women as protectors and advocates within their communities — empowering them with information and strategies to combat social challenges effectively. The discussions also highlighted the collective responsibility of the community in ensuring a safe, healthy, and rights-respecting environment for all.

This large-scale participation reflects the growing awareness and readiness of the community to take action against harmful practices. By fostering knowledge, dialogue, and unity, the Naya Disha Project continues to strengthen grassroots efforts to protect rights and promote positive change.
