On 27th January 2025, the Director of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC), accompanied by project staff, undertook a comprehensive monitoring visit to the Sohochori and MIST projects in Matia, located in the North 24 Parganas district. The visit aimed to evaluate the progress of these initiatives and to engage directly with the beneficiaries and stakeholders. During the visit, the Director interacted with children and mothers, gaining insights into their achievements, challenges, and the positive changes brought about by the projects. Home visits were conducted to assess the living conditions and witness first-hand the tangible impact of these interventions on the community. Meetings with key stakeholders were an integral part of the visit, focusing on strengthening partnerships and ensuring community involvement in the projects. These discussions highlighted areas of progress and identified opportunities for enhancing the effectiveness of the initiatives. The day concluded with an in-depth session where the Director shared her observations, praised the team’s efforts, and offered constructive feedback to further the success of the projects. This visit reinforced KMWSC’s unwavering commitment to empowering marginalised communities and fostering sustainable development in Matia.
