Taking care of those who care for others is essential to sustaining meaningful, long-term impact. With this belief, a staff capacity-building training was conducted at Sovabazar on 25th August 2026, bringing together team members from the Leadership and Empowerment of Survivors, Anti Human Trafficking, Silver Lining and Red Light Projects for a day dedicated to stress management, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Recognising the emotional demands that come with frontline social work, the session was designed to give staff a much-needed space to pause, reflect, and recharge. Facilitators drew on the therapeutic power of colours to guide participants through the day, encouraging them to express emotions freely and release built-up tension through creative expression rather than words alone.
Through art therapy, staff engaged in activities that allowed colours to work their quiet magic, gradually transforming stress and anxiety into calmness, positivity and mental clarity. Participants were encouraged to reconnect with their inner sense of calm, using colour and creativity as tools for emotional release and self-care.
Beyond the individual benefits, the training also fostered a shared sense of solidarity among staff from different projects, as they came together in a common space to support one another's wellbeing. Such moments of collective reflection help build stronger, more resilient teams, better equipped to continue their demanding and deeply important work in the field.
Through initiatives such as this, KMWSC reaffirms its commitment to the wellbeing of its own staff, recognising that a calm and supported team is better placed to bring care, patience, and compassion to the communities they serve.
"Colours that heal, calm that renews."
