On 10th January 2025, a powerful awareness program on Anti-Human Trafficking and the protection of vulnerable individuals was organised at Basirhat Railway Station under the Surokhit Shaishav Project. The event brought together key stakeholders, including the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and the Border Security Force (BSF) in an united effort to combat this pressing issue. Distinguished participants included Inspector-in-Charge Bablu Kr. Sarkar (GRP), Inspector Subhas Chandra Sethi (RPF), and Inspector B.R. Meghwal (BSF), alongside representatives from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. Their presence underscored the critical role of law enforcement agencies in safeguarding communities and preventing trafficking activities. The program featured detailed discussions on identifying potential victims, recognising trafficking networks, and implementing proactive safety measures. Emphasis was placed on inter-agency coordination, community engagement, and the need for continuous vigilance at vulnerable transit points such as railway stations. Public announcements, interactive sessions, and distribution of informational materials further enhanced the outreach and impact of the initiative. This collaborative effort is a testament to the commitment of law enforcement bodies, local authorities, and social organisations to combat human trafficking. By fostering awareness and equipping the community with knowledge and resources, the initiative takes a significant step toward creating a safer and more informed society.
