On 26th July 2025, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre proudly awarded completion certificates to 12 trainees from the Beautician Unit who successfully completed the Nail Art course under the Skill Development Project. This certification marks more than just the end of a course — it signifies a step forward in the journey of self-reliance, confidence, and livelihood creation for each of the women.

The Nail Art module was carefully designed to equip participants with both fundamental and advanced techniques in contemporary nail design, enabling them to offer services that align with current industry trends. Over the duration of the course, trainees engaged in hands-on practice, exploring styles ranging from classic manicures to intricate art techniques — all while honing their precision, creativity, and client interaction skills.

The certificate distribution event was filled with joy and pride as the trainees received their certificates from the facilitators and staff. For many, it was the first time being formally recognised for their skills — a moment of validation and empowerment.

Several of the trainees shared heartfelt stories of how this training has not only sparked their entrepreneurial dreams but also changed the way they view their own potential. Many now plan to begin home-based services or join beauty parlours to contribute to their family income.

This milestone reflects KMWSC’s ongoing commitment to create pathways for sustainable livelihoods through skill-building programmes that are relevant, inclusive, and transformative.
