On 24 January 2026, the Surakshit Saisav project jointly observed the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and National Girl Child Day, at the Merudandi Helipad Ground. The event aimed to raise awareness on the education, health, protection, and overall well-being of girl children, while also highlighting broader child protection issues within the community.
Children’s Club members from various villages actively participated in the programme, making the celebration vibrant and inclusive. An annual sports competition was organised as part of the event, encouraging teamwork, confidence, and healthy competition among children. The sports activities served not only as a recreational platform but also as a means to promote physical well-being and collective participation.
Local villagers attended the event, reflecting community engagement and support for the cause. The presence of Smt. Baby Ghosh, Panchayat Pradhan, and Shri Mujibur Rahman, Upo Pradhan, of Sangrampur Shibhati Gram Panchayat added significance to the programme. They addressed the gathering with brief speeches, emphasising the importance of educating and protecting girl children, and presented awards to the children in recognition of their participation and achievements.
Adding to the day’s message of unity and awareness, a rally was organised from the Merudandi Helipad Ground to Merudandi Dakshin Para. The rally amplified key messages on girl child rights, protection, and empowerment, drawing attention from the wider community and reinforcing collective responsibility.
The event successfully blended awareness, celebration, and action, honouring the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose while advocating for a safer, healthier, and more empowered future for every girl child.
“Empowered girls, inspired by courage - building a future of equality and strength.”
