Celebrating CRC Week and Director’s Monitoring Visit at Dulki Village: Advancing Child Rights Under the Lotus Child Project

On 21st November 2024, Dulki village came alive with the vibrant celebration of CRC Week under the Lotus Child Project. With the enthusiastic participation of 120 attendees, the event was a powerful testament to the community’s commitment to child rights and development. The celebration began with a warm and symbolic welcome, as guests were greeted with Sundari tree leaves and handmade bouquets, reflecting the community's deep-rooted connection to nature. The program featured an introduction to the Child Rights Convention (CRC), setting the tone for the day’s activities. Highlights of the event included:

Shishu Boron: A traditional welcoming of children.
Recitations and Cultural Performances: Showcasing children’s talents and promoting messages of equal rights.
Drama by Adolescents: A compelling enactment addressing the pressing issue of child labour.

The event concluded with participants feeling inspired, enlightened, and motivated to champion child rights further. In addition to the celebration, the Director conducted a comprehensive monitoring visit. Her activities included reviewing project documentation, holding feedback sessions, conducting a staff meeting to discuss updates, and visiting homes within the community to assess progress. This multifaceted approach underscored the ongoing commitment to holistic child empowerment and community development under the Lotus Child Project.
