On 12th June 2026, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) proudly celebrated its 12th Foundation Day, marking twelve years of dedicated service, community empowerment, and commitment to the vision and values of Mary Ward. The occasion was observed not only at the organisational level but also across various project locations, bringing together staff, children, youth, community members, and stakeholders in a shared celebration of KMWSC’s journey.
The day began with a prayer service and moments of reflection on the organisation’s growth, achievements, and impact over the past twelve years. Staff members recalled how KMWSC’s core values of Justice, Freedom, Peace, Integrity, and Love have influenced both their professional and personal lives, inspiring them to serve communities with compassion and dedication. As a symbol of their continued commitment, staff renewed their pledge to uphold these values and carry forward the mission entrusted to them.
Foundation Day celebrations were also organised across different project areas. The Skill Development Team marked the occasion with students, reflecting on the importance of education and empowerment in building brighter futures. Under the Lotus Child Project at Dulki, children, community members, and staff came together in a joyful celebration that highlighted child rights and the importance of creating safe and nurturing environments for every child.
In Hingalganj, under the Naya Disha Project, the celebration was integrated with a community awareness programme at the Sardar Sahapur ICDS Centre. Through games, discussions, and interactive activities, children, ASHA workers, and local residents celebrated KMWSC’s twelve-year journey of love, education, and positive social change.
At the Indo-Bangladesh border, members of Community Vigilance Committees (CVCs), adolescents, youth, and survivors associated with the Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) and LES Projects gathered to commemorate the occasion. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate collective achievements and reaffirm a shared commitment to protecting vulnerable communities and promoting social justice.
As KMWSC enters its 13th year, the organisation expresses heartfelt gratitude to its funding partners, well-wishers, supporters, collaborators, and beneficiaries whose trust and encouragement have made this remarkable journey possible. With renewed hope and determination, KMWSC continues to walk in the footsteps of Mary Ward, striving to create lasting change and transform lives across communities.
Tagline: Twelve years of service, countless lives touched, and a future filled with hope.
