Career Counselling Exposure Visit for Adolescents from Red-Light Area Project

  • 06 May 2025 - 06 May 2025
  • 10.30am
  • Nehru Children’s Museum, Kolkata

On 6th May 2025, a group of adolescents from the Red-Light Area Project had the unique opportunity to attend a Career Counselling Event held at Nehru Children’s Museum, organised by a like-minded civil society organisation. This exposure visit was designed to broaden the horizons of young individuals living in vulnerable communities and help them dream beyond their circumstances.

The adolescents explored the venue with great enthusiasm, absorbing the energy of a learning environment and engaging with representatives from various reputed universities and educational institutions. In these one-to-one interactions, they gained valuable insight into different academic and vocational courses, career possibilities, and most importantly, the scholarship opportunities available for students from marginalised backgrounds.
This event not only provided vital career guidance but also served as a spark of hope and inspiration. For many of these young minds, it was their first step towards imagining a future shaped by education, dignity, and opportunity.

The day ended with a sense of aspiration and confidence. It was more than just an event—it was a powerful reminder that with the right guidance and support, every child, regardless of their origin, can dare to dream and achieve.

“Opening doors to opportunity — because every dream deserves a chance.”
