Breaking Myths, Building Confidence — Awareness on Menstrual Health
29 Oct 2025
Sishu Bikash Academy, Baruipur
On 29th October 2025, a School Awareness Workshop was conducted under the Silver Lining Project at Sishu Bikash Academy, Baruipur, focusing on Menstrual Health and Hygiene. The session was attended by 50 students, who actively participated in the discussions and activities.
The workshop aimed to dispel myths and taboos surrounding menstruation and create a safe space for open dialogue among adolescents. Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, the facilitators emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, proper menstrual care, and understanding the natural process of menstruation without fear or shame.
Students were encouraged to ask questions freely and share their experiences, helping to normalise conversations about menstruation — a crucial step toward reducing stigma and promoting gender equality. The session also addressed issues of nutrition, self-care, and emotional well-being during menstruation, empowering young girls with the knowledge to manage their health confidently.
Workshops like these are essential in shaping informed and confident adolescents, ensuring that menstruation is recognized as a natural part of growing up rather than a topic of silence.
“Awareness breaks barriers — when girls learn without fear, they grow with confidence.”
