Barefoot Teachers Training Programme conducts training for for Field Teachers of Seva Kendra, Siliguri

  On 17th December 2014, a comprehensive Barefoot Teachers Training was organised for the field teachers of Seva Kendra, Siliguri, with the aim of enhancing their teaching skills and equipping them to address students' needs effectively. The session began with a morning prayer, setting a reflective and focused tone for the day.     Key Highlights of the Training:   

  1. Introduction to Barefoot Training: An overview of the program's objectives and its relevance.
  2. Expectation Setting: Understanding participants’ goals for the training.
  3. Characteristics of Children: Insights into child behavior and learning styles.
  4. Qualities of a Good Teacher: Exploring the traits essential for effective teaching.
  5. Sympathy vs. Empathy: Clarifying these concepts and their application in teaching.
  6. Right to Development: Discussing child development rights and their importance.
  7. Right to Education (RTE): Understanding its significance and practical implications.
  8. Baseline Assessment: Tools and techniques to evaluate initial student learning levels.
  9. Learning Levels: Strategies to address diverse learning needs.
  10. Action Rhymes: Integrating engaging rhymes for an enjoyable learning experience.
  11. TLM (Teaching-Learning Materials) Preparation: Hands-on methods to create effective teaching aids.
  12. Demo Session: A practical demonstration of teaching place value using an abacus and TLM.
  The training was interactive and hands-on, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Participants gained practical tools and techniques to create engaging, child-friendly classrooms. This initiative underscored the crucial role of grassroots educators in promoting holistic child development and ensuring access to quality education.
