Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre thanks Mr. Peter Seidel from Caritas Germany and Dr. Jayanta Munsi from Caritas India, who were on an official visit to the field of Surokhit Shaishav (Child Rights) Project in Basirhat, North 24 Parganas, near Indo Bangladesh border on 4th March 2023. The delegates were accompanied by Sr. Monica Suchiang, Director of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre. Mr. Peter was given a warm welcome at the resource centre by the child leaders of the Child Clubs, followed by the felicitation of Mr. Seidel by presenting the “Uttorio” and garland. The child leaders shared their journey with Surokhit Shaishav and their initiatives in the villages. The bravery awardees shared their works of changes in the villages. The child leaders thanked Peter sir, for the support they received from Caritas, which empowered them with leadership skills and take the new roles as child leaders. The women undergoing tailoring course at the resource centre also displayed their skills to Peter sir. Mr. Seidel and Dr. Munsi also visited the brick kilns where children were attending classes at the brickfield schools run by the Organisation. We thank officials of the Border Security Force (BFS) for their wonderful interaction and sharing with Mr. Peter Seidel.
