Mainstreamed students of migrant families make their community proud of them.

July 21, 2023

Earlier in 2022, the Brickfield School Project mainstreamed 7 girls from the Mushar community in Class-IX at their village High School at Enkar village in Nawada district of Bihar. This year, the girls were successfully promoted to Class-X, creating history whereby 7 girls from that community will appear for their Secondary School Examination in 2024. Today, at a surprise test conducted for the students of Class-X, two of those 7 students, Punam Kumari and Gudia Kumari jointly held the first position in their class, making the entire Mushar community proud of them. The surprise test was taken on OMR sheet. KMWSC has been and will continue to extend full support to these girls so that they can complete their Secondary School Education with flying colours.

Continuing our efforts for sustaining education of children belonging to families who migrate from Nawada in Bihar to the brickfields in West Bengal, this year, the Brickfield School Project has already mainstreamed 392 children in Government schools at their native villages in Nawada. 26 children have been admitted in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Boy’s Hostel at Chiraila village of Rajauli Block and 1 girl in KGBV home for the girls at Narhat block. Our mainstreaming effort is continuing at Nawada and more children will be mainstreamed in the coming weeks.
