Marching with voices of unvoiced, standing together with survivors women and children KMWSC organized a mass rally in collaboration with British Deputy High Commission Kolkata, West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Police unit and civic police volunteers of Canning, SHG, village community and Adolescents Girls Group marched together on World’s Day Against human trafficking in persons from BDO office to Canning Police station.
KMWSC thanks Bruce Bucknell, the British Deputy High Commission of Kolkata, Mrs Ananya Chakraborty, Chairperson, Ms. Sudeshna Roy, member, West Bengal Commission for protection of Child Rights, Mr. Niladri Shekhar Dey, BDO of Canning, Devi Dayal Kundu,SDPO, OC- Ashish Kumar Das of Canning police unit for joining in our efforts for mass awareness and sensitization on Human Trafficking.
The Rally was flag off by the British Deputy High Commissioner, Ms. Ananya Chairperson and Director of KMWSC by letting free of white pigeons in the sky as a symbol of freedom and equality. A welcome speech was delivered by the Director of KMWSC. Followed by a short speech by Mr. Bruce Bucknell who highlighted that the human trafficking is the issue of every nation. He also called for the collaborative actions together from private and government sectors to fight for the justice against human trafficking. Short speeches were delivered by the other dignitaries present for the event. More than 600 people have participates and witnessed the event as the world keeps a day for human trafficking in persons.
