On 2nd day of her monitoring visit to Nawada, our Director, Sr. Monica Suchaing, along with the Brickfield School Project team, visited Nabasrijit Prathamik Vidyalaya at Chaurma Village in Nardiganj Block. There she had a delightful interaction with the children who were mainstreamed by the BFS project team earlier. She also had a discussion with the school teachers about the current status of students who had been mainstreamed after returning from the brickfields. Sr. Monica also reviewed the syllabus of the school. Finally, she inspected the child friendly wall paintings on the school building, done by KMWSC, to spread awareness on relevant social issues.
From Chaurma, Sr, Monica travelled to Hisua Block to meet and interact with the children and teachers of Upgraded Utkarmik Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Eknar Village. It is worth mentioning here, that 7 girls, who returned to the village from the brickfields, have been mainstreamed in Class-IX of this school. The girls were excited to meet and interact with the Director. Sr. Monica distributed school kits among the 7 girls to encourage them for further studies. The children were happy to receive the kits and thanked Sister and the team for such a gesture to support them for their schooling. From the School, Sr. Monica and the Brickfield School project team went to Mushari Tola in Eknar village. A fruitful interaction was held with the parents in the village regarding the present situation of their children’s education. She also enquired about facilities and support they receive from the Government.
Last visit of the day was at Krishnanagar Village at Nawada Block. Sr. Monica had a long interaction and discussion with the villagers to develop Krishnanagar into a Model Village and setup an example for entire Nawada district. The villagers were happy to learn the good things about their village and they have promised to cooperate and plan for the development of a “Model Village”. They thanked Sister Monica whole heartedly for putting forward the idea of developing Krishnanagar as a “Model Village”.
