Since 2011 KMWSC has supported the non-formal school for children of the extremely poor and marginalised Lodha ‘tribal’ community on Sagar Island located at the mouth of the River Hooghly.
The Education Centre, running with 3 local teachers trained by KMWSC in a ‘community hall’,aims to place Lodha children, and other poor local children, into mainstream schools and help them to succeed by continued educational support.
