Keeping pace with evolving industry trends is essential for ensuring that vocational training remains relevant and equips learners with skills that meet current market demands. With this objective, the Skill Development (SKD) Project of Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre organised a Face Art Workshop on 20th July 2026 for students enrolled in the Beautician Training Course. The day also marked the successful completion of training for one batch of students and the commencement of a new learning journey for another.
The Face Art Workshop was introduced as a specialised skill enhancement initiative in response to the growing demand for creative face art in the beauty and wellness industry. Through practical demonstrations and hands-on learning, participants were introduced to contemporary techniques, designs, and professional practices that are increasingly sought after for festivals, celebrations, children's events, and the entertainment sector. The workshop enabled students to expand their skill sets and remain competitive in an ever-changing marketplace.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, certificates were awarded to 13 trainees who successfully completed the Beautician Training Course. The certification programme celebrated their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to acquiring professional skills that can lead to meaningful employment or entrepreneurial opportunities. It marked an important milestone in their journey towards economic independence and self-confidence.
The event also witnessed the launch of a new batch of the Beautician Training Course, welcoming 11 aspiring trainees who have embarked on their own journey of learning and skill development. Their enrolment reflects the growing interest in vocational education as a pathway to sustainable livelihoods.
By combining advanced skill enhancement with formal certification and new opportunities for learning, the programme reaffirmed KMWSC's commitment to empowering women through quality vocational training. Through initiatives such as these, the SKD Project continues to equip individuals with industry-relevant skills, enabling them to build successful careers and achieve greater financial independence.
“Learning new trends, celebrating achievements, and creating brighter careers.”
