On 22nd May 2026, the Silver Lining Project team, in collaboration with the Landing Pads Project, inaugurated a Sanitary Pad ATM at the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Office of South 24 Parganas. The initiative marked another meaningful step towards improving access to menstrual hygiene resources and promoting dignity, health, and wellbeing for women and girls.
The programme was conducted in the presence of CWC members and district officials, whose participation reflected the growing importance of addressing menstrual health as a matter of dignity and accessibility. The installation of the sanitary pad ATM aims to ensure easier and more convenient access to sanitary products, particularly for women and adolescent girls who may otherwise face challenges in obtaining them regularly.
Beyond providing access, the initiative also contributes to breaking social stigma and encouraging open conversations around menstrual hygiene and health. By creating supportive and accessible facilities within institutional spaces, the programme seeks to foster greater awareness, confidence, and comfort among beneficiaries.
The inauguration highlighted the shared commitment of stakeholders towards building safer, healthier, and more inclusive environments where the basic health and hygiene needs of women and girls are recognised and addressed with sensitivity and care.
Through such interventions, KMWSC continues to work towards empowering communities by promoting wellbeing, dignity, and access to essential services at the grassroots level.
“Ensuring dignity through accessible care and compassionate support.”
