On 8th May 2026, a Free Eye Check-up Camp was organised at Baruipur under the Silver Lining Project in collaboration with the Lions Club of Kolkata. The initiative aimed to promote awareness on eye health and improve access to essential healthcare services within the community.
A total of 100 patients were screened during the camp. Beneficiaries received basic eye examinations, consultations, and guidance on maintaining proper eye care and hygiene. The camp also helped identify individuals requiring further medical attention or corrective support, enabling early intervention and timely referral when necessary.
For many community members, especially those from economically vulnerable backgrounds, access to regular eye care services remains limited. The camp therefore served as an important step in addressing preventable vision-related concerns and encouraging greater awareness about the importance of timely eye check-ups.
Community members actively participated in the programme, reflecting the growing need for accessible and affordable healthcare initiatives at the grassroots level. The collaborative effort between the Silver Lining Project and the Lions Club of Kolkata demonstrated the value of partnerships in extending healthcare support to underserved populations.
Through such initiatives, the project continues to work towards improving overall well-being and promoting healthier communities through preventive and accessible healthcare services.
“Clear vision, healthier lives—bringing eye care closer to the community.”
