Advocacy and Networking – Brick Field School Project , Nawada Intervention Program , Bihar

KMWSC invited at labour department for Anti-Child labor conference hosted by the Nawada block Labour department, Bihar and UNICEF . The speakers and guest were BDO, SDO,DM, superintendent of labour department, Ministers, representative from each panchyat, Ward chairman, representatives from UNICEF and representative from RDO, CDO, DSP, BIO Asha karmis from block level. Discussion were on developing the road map for Bihar to make it child labour free by June 15 2019. Introducing new policies, forming new sub committees at the panchyat level, child labour tracking and registering, developing block sanrakshan committee with labour department to prevent child labour by stoping migration – labour department task force – family rehabilitation, parents registration at panchayat level. Workshop were conducted on new child labour law and it’s new regulations. The Block Development Officer invited KMWSC staff Mr Vidya Bhushan on stage to share the experience from the field perspective .Mr Vidya spoke about KMWSC, Brick Field School project and the Nawada intervention Programme . The government departments gave a positive response to our work at the field level and assured their support .
