On 29th January 2026, the Brickfield School Project organised vibrant drawing competitions across five centres at Basirhat, namely, Kisna-2, Banasri, Agragami, Ashok, and the Model Centre. The activity provided children with a joyful platform to express their thoughts, dreams, and emotions through colours and creativity. With crayons and sketch pens in hand, the BFS centres came alive with imagination, laughter, and artistic enthusiasm.
The competition encouraged children to explore self-expression freely, helping them build confidence while enjoying the process of creating something of their own. Each centre recognised the best three drawings with prizes, celebrating effort and creativity. To ensure inclusivity and encouragement, all other participants received consolation prizes, reinforcing the message that every child’s expression is valuable.
Beyond artistic skills, the activity nurtured focus, imagination, and emotional expression – key elements of holistic child development. Teachers and facilitators observed enthusiastic participation and a strong sense of pride among the children as they shared their artwork with peers.
Such creative engagements play an important role in making learning joyful and meaningful for children from migrant brickfield communities. Encouraged by the positive response, similar competitions and creative activities will be organised at other Brickfield School Project locations in the coming days.
“Every drawing tells a story—where imagination finds its voice.”
