A paper bag making workshop was organised at the New Alipore Centre under the Kolkata Slums Project on 16th January 2026 as part of the project’s vocational training initiative. The session was facilitated by a professional trainer who guided the participants through the step-by-step process of creating durable and aesthetically designed paper bags.
The workshop aimed to build practical skills among adolescents and young participants while also promoting environmentally sustainable alternatives to plastic. Through hands-on practice, learners gained confidence in crafting usable products that can support small-scale livelihood opportunities. The interactive learning environment encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
The initiative reinforced KMWSC’s commitment to combining skill development with environmental responsibility, enabling participants to contribute positively to both their households and the planet.
“Learning skills today for a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.”
