Barefoot teachers training conducted their first training for 2019 on 15th January and it continued for four days till 18th January 2019.Training was conducted with a capacity of 40 participants among them 34 participants were male and 6 were female from Bashirhat,Bolpur,Garia and candidates also joined from HDCL project and Red light projects of KMWSC. The major and the most distinguishing factor for both the participants and the resource person were our Barefoot Funders Catherine O’ loughlin and her husband Kevin O’ Loughlin from Ireland visited Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre to have an interaction and orientation about the ongoing training process. Not only that the funders had an opportunity to go through the training. The resource person along with the participants demonstrated the methodologies of training. The training started with the ice breaking session and other related theoretical parts. Language development and number development were the main concerns of the training. Both the development was demonstrated with the help of action games, song, rhymes. Look and say card and conversation sheet were defined to maintain the strategy of Language Development. Number Disc was used to give the idea of numerology. Necessity of lesson plan its importance and its utility was explained to them along with an example. Micro teaching was implemented so that the resource person could get an idea of the capability of the trainees along with it emphasis were on the preparation of teaching learning material. Last but not the least the Barefoot funders were overwhelmed to go through the demonstration of the training. They expressed their feeling with joy and content as their money has been properly utilized for the grass root level teachers.
