A focused Life Skill Training Session on Effective Communication was conducted on 24th November 2025 at Gosaba, Sundarban under the Adolescent Girls’ Empowerment Programme (AGEP). The session aimed to strengthen the communication abilities of adolescent girls, enabling them to express themselves clearly, confidently, and responsibly in different social settings.
Through interactive activities, group discussions, and real-life examples, the participants explored key elements of communication such as active listening, clarity in expression, non-verbal cues, empathy, and assertiveness. The session also addressed common barriers to communication and helped the girls recognise ways to overcome hesitation, misunderstandings, and fear of judgement.
The girls actively participated in role-plays and exercises, learning how effective communication contributes to better relationships at home, in school, and within their communities. They shared their own experiences, challenges, and reflections, making the session both meaningful and empowering.
As AGEP continues its mission to build confident and informed young leaders, sessions like these play a vital role in shaping the personal and social growth of adolescent girls across the Sunderbans.
