Children’s Day Celebration of Lotus Child Project

Children’s day is of special importance to us as it gives an opportunity to the underprivileged children to have a quality recreational time. Such an occasion was organized at Loreto Entally Campus and the Children of Sonapota centre along with their parents got the privilege to attend the programme on 14^th November 2018 to celebrate Children’s Day. They had a lot of fun with dance music and games. Though belated , the children of Chaulgola Center celebrated Chidren’s Day with great vigour on the 24^th November 2018 with fun and frolic. We had estimated presence of 120 children but verbal communication had spread the news of celebration far interior into the community and children started pouring in huge numbers. The community participated in the celebrations. The center was decorated with balloons  and frillers. The children were made to sit outside into neat rows. The programme started with a small prayer organized by the teachers of the center. A short introduction was given to the children about the day being celebrated. It was explained to them how the entire programme would progress and what they were supposed to do. Each of the children was given snacks like cake, biscuit, sweets, frooti and a bottle. Every child very enthusiastically received the gifts. To give support to this celebration the government officials were also present and appreciated the initiative to make this day a memorable one for the children. They enjoyed the program along with the children. The children were also provided with food – biscuits and cakes to add to the celebrations of the event. Each child with a smiling face and a warm thank you on their lips left the center and hoped such celebrations will bring more joy in their life in times ahead.
