Students from the Department of Social Work, Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli visited Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) on 7th November 2025 to gain first-hand insights into the organisation’s diverse programmes and community-based initiatives.
During the visit, the students interacted with project coordinators and field staff, learning about KMWSC’s interventions in education, anti-human trafficking, women empowerment, climate action, and child rights. The engaging discussions helped them connect theoretical learning with practical approaches in social development work.
The visit concluded with the students presenting a plaque of appreciation to KMWSC, acknowledging the organisation’s dedication to social welfare and its transformative impact on marginalised communities.
Such academic exchanges strengthen the bridge between learning and practice, inspiring future social workers to carry forward the spirit of service and compassion.
