Empowering Dreams, Building Futures: Launch of Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme

The Adolescent Girls Empowerment Programme (AGEP), supported by Nomi Network, was launched on 30th November 2025 at Boinchtala, Dhapa, in the presence of adolescent girls and their parents. Earlier in the month, the programme had already taken root among the adolescent girls of Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 at Gosaba, Sundarban, marking a significant milestone in KMWSC’s continued efforts toward empowering young girls from marginalized communities.

The programme seeks to nurture leadership, life skills, and resilience among adolescent girls while equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to make informed life choices. Through interactive sessions, awareness drives, and skill-based activities, AGEP aims to address critical issues such as gender equality, education, child rights, and protection from exploitation, helping girls envision a brighter and more independent future.

The launch events at both Dhapa and Gosaba were filled with enthusiasm and hope. Parents and community members joined in to pledge their support, recognizing the importance of collective effort in shaping a safe and inclusive environment for girls. The adolescent participants expressed their excitement and readiness to learn, grow, and lead positive change within their communities.

The initiative stands as a beacon of opportunity – reaffirming KMWSC’s belief that when a girl is empowered, an entire community rises.
