Bal Sabha at Biramnagar: Voices of Children, Visions of Change

  • 28 Oct 2025
  • 10.30am
  • Biramnagar Football Ground, Basirhat-1 Block.

On 28th October 2025, the Surokhit Shaishav Project team, along with 40 Child Club members, participated in a Bal Sabha (Children’s Assembly) held at the football ground of Biramnagar village. The event was organized by the Sangrampur Shibhati Gram Panchayat as part of their commitment to child welfare and community engagement.

The Bal Sabha served as a vibrant platform for children to express their thoughts, share their concerns, and engage in discussions centred on their rights, protection, and overall development. The initiative aimed to strengthen children’s participation in community decision-making, fostering awareness among local governance bodies about the importance of listening to young voices.

The event witnessed the presence of key Government stakeholders, including Panchayat Pradhan Smt. Baby Ghosh, Upo-Pradhan Shri Mujibar Rahman Gazi, and Secretary Shri Ganesh Chandra Das, alongside ASHA workers, school teachers, ICDS workers, and villagers. Their presence underscored the Panchayat’s proactive approach to building a child-friendly community through collaboration and inclusion.

The children confidently articulated their ideas on education, health, safety, and equal opportunities, marking a significant step toward promoting child-led advocacy at the grassroots level. The Panchayat members and stakeholders appreciated the initiative and assured continued cooperation to ensure every child grows in a safe, nurturing, and empowered environment.

This Bal Sabha not only amplified the voices of children but also reflected a shared vision – where every child is heard, protected, and valued within the community.

“When children speak, the future listens — nurturing leaders of tomorrow through participation today.”
