On 22nd October 2025, a comprehensive Capacity Building Session was organised at Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) for staff members representing six key projects — Tribal Community Development and Empowerment (TCDEP), Climate Action & Biodiversity, Nari Shakti, Surokhit Shaishav, Naya Disha, and Adolescent Girls’ Empowerment Programme (AGEP).
A total of 19 dedicated staff members participated in the session, which focused on exploring the core elements of conducting effective sessions — from structured planning and engaging delivery to participatory facilitation and impact assessment. The training emphasised the importance of clear communication, goal-oriented activities, and creating safe and inclusive learning environments for diverse community groups.
Through interactive discussions, group exercises, and reflective sharing, participants learned to design sessions that not only inform but also inspire change. The workshop also encouraged staff to draw from their field experiences to identify what works best in community engagement and capacity-building initiatives.
By the end of the session, participants expressed renewed motivation and confidence in applying these strategies in their respective projects — ensuring that every interaction in the field becomes a step toward empowerment, awareness, and sustainable transformation.
“Empowered facilitators create empowered communities — one session at a time.”
