11 Oct 2025
10.30am
KMWSC Premises, New Alipore & Dulki Village, Sundarbans
On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child, Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre (KMWSC) celebrated the day with joy, pride, and purpose across multiple project locations — KMWSC Office (Kolkata), New Alipore Centre under the Kolkata Slums Project, and Dulki Village in the Sundarbans under the Lotus Child Project.
The day highlighted the resilience, rights, and potential of every girl, reinforcing KMWSC’s unwavering commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
At the New Alipore Centre, the celebration under the Kolkata Slums Project brought together girls from the community and project staff for interactive sessions and fun-filled activities that focused on self-esteem, leadership, and the right to education. The girls expressed their dreams through art and storytelling, making the event vibrant and inspiring.
Simultaneously, at the KMWSC Skill Development Unit, trainees participated in an empowering session on self-belief and equal opportunity, recognizing the importance of skills and education in shaping a dignified life.
At Dulki Village in the Sundarbans, under the Lotus Child Project, girls from the rural community participated in awareness sessions and cultural performances, spreading messages of hope and equality amidst applause and encouragement from the local community.
Across all venues, the message resonated clearly — every girl deserves the right to learn, to lead, and to live free from discrimination and fear.
Together, the celebrations became a collective call to action — to nurture girls’ dreams, amplify their voices, and create a world where their potential knows no bounds.
“Empowered girls. Equal future. Let’s keep the promise alive.”
